Graduate School Teaching Assistantships at Bemidji State

The Department of English at Bemidji State University invites applications for graduate study in English. We have several graduate teaching assistantships available to fully cover the cost of graduate tuition. We offer both Master of Arts and Master of Science programs, with coursework covering fields such as literature, composition and rhetoric, creative writing, linguistics, and pedagogy. Thesis options include both scholarly and creative theses.

Graduate Teaching Assistants gain valuable teaching experience as instructors of record in both Composition and Argument & Exposition courses. They are supported in their teaching by our Rhetoric and Composition faculty, through both workshop training and coursework. The Graduate Assistantship tuition credit waivers total 15-credit hours per year to fully cover the 30-credit hour (MA) or 32-credit hour (MS) degree programs, along with providing a competitive monthly stipend.

The Bemidji State University Graduate School is currently accepting applications and uses rolling admissions, so students can apply at any time. Please note, however, the deadline to apply for a Graduate Assistantship is March 1, 2022.
