Who else is amazed by the proliferation of Jane Austen spin-offs these days?! I’m trying to compile a definitive list of novels inspired directly by the great lady…including those with vampires and zombies. Ha. Here’s what I’ve got so far:
- Adriani, Susan. Affinity and Affection.
- Aidan, Pamela. An Assembly Such as This: A Novel of Fitzwilliam Darcy, Gentleman.
- Aiken, Joan. Jane Fairfax: The Secret Story of the Second Heroine.
- Altman, Marsha. The Plight of the Darcy Brothers: A Tale of the Darceys and Bingleys.
- —. The Darcys and the Bingleys: A Tale of Two Gentlemen’s Marriages to Two Most Devoted Sisters.
- Brown, Laurie. What Would Jane Austen Do?
- Collins, Rebecca Ann. The Pemberley Chronicles: A Companion Volume to Jane
- Austen’s Pride and Prejudice: Book 1
- —. Mr. Darcy’s Daughter: The Pemberley Chronicles.
- —. The Ladies of Longbourn.
- —. The Women of Pemberly.
- Fowler, Karen Joy. The Jane Austen Book Club.
- Grahame-Smith, Seth. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
- Grange, Amanda. Mr. Darcy, Vampyre.
- —. Colonel Brandon’s Diary.
- Greensmith, Jane. Intimations of Austen.
- Patillo, Beth. Jane Austen Ruined My Life.
- Rigler, Laurie Viera. Rude Awakenings of a Jane Austen Addict.
- —. Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict.
- Spence, Jon. Becoming Jane Austen.
- Webster, Emma Campbell. Lost in Austen: Create Your own Jane Austen Adventure.
- Wells, Linda. Fate and Consequences: A Tale of Pride and Prejudice.
- Winters, Ben H. Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters.
What have I missed? Have any of you read any of these and want to recommend whether we read it or not? I would like to discuss these works in more detail, but I’m busy writing Northanger Abbey and Gnomes.
